Mom Shares Her Tearful And Painful Experience Getting Back To Work 12 Days After Giving Birth

This mom shares her painful and tearful experience of returning to work 12 days after giving birth:

Motherhood is challenging, tasking, and takes a toll on even the best of mothers. No mother should be forced to return to work just days after giving birth to her child. Maternity leave is essential; babies need their mums to grow and nurture.

Today’s story is about Rebecca, a 26-year-old from the USA. She recorded a video and shared it on TikTok, a genuinely heartbreaking video showing her working and inability to be with her baby in the NICU because of how the system works.

A Mother’s Love, Tested

Rebecca’s baby, Eden, was born prematurely at 27 weeks. Because of her premature birth, Eden was kept in the NICU to help with her development. That, in itself, is enough for any mother to bear and go through. But things took a turn for the worse when she had to go back to work 12 days after giving birth to Eden!

This gut-wrenching video really shows how distraught and troubled this new mother is, unable to take care of her baby while trying to pay the bills.

In her video, Rebecca writes:

“You return to work 12 days after having a premature baby at 27 weeks, so that when she is eventually discharged from the NICU you can spend what little maternity leave you have with her.

“You try to pump at work every three hours, but they’re understaffed.

“Your milk supply is diminishing at 8 weeks postpartum.

“Will you even have milk available when she gets home?

“What do other NICU parents do? How can anyone afford to stay home during an NICU stay?

“How can anyone handle the guilt when you have to work and can’t be with your baby?

The sheer trauma and sadness can be seen so clearly on Rebecca’s face as she tries to get on with her day at work. Postpartum is a difficult situation for mothers – it can go from anywhere to depression, decreased milk production, and much worse. But this young lady didn’t give up.

Humanity Lives, Help Swiftly Arrives

After her video went viral on TikTok, showing the true power of social media – Rebecca received tremendous support from all over the world. People asked if they could send her money to help, strangers, friends, people who’d never met her chimed in to help out in any way they could – a pure showcase of humanity in the digital age.

In her video, looking much less stressed and calm, she thanked her supporters wholeheartedly:

“So many of you have shown support, reached out, donated, which is crazy to me. It is absolutely not the responsibility of generous people like you to take on something like this on.

Jessica Reunites with Her Eden

Finally, after going through an incredibly tough time as a first-time mother, Jessica could hold her baby and be with her in the NICU. She posted a video, thanking everyone for all of their love and support. Baby Eden can be seen blissfully sleeping and making cute baby sounds as her mother embraces her.

She wrote in her video:

“TikTok… Because of you, I will not be forced to choose between being with my daughter in NICU or paying the bills. I am eternally grateful.”

Eden Comes Home

After ten long weeks in the NICU, Eden is finally home! Jessica shares their updates regularly on her TikTok – you should follow the mother-daughter duo here.

A Mother Made Her Teen Daughter Sign A Tenancy Agreement Asking Her To Pay $100 per Month in Rent

A mom revealed that she made her teenage daughter sign a contract that she would pay her rent if she wanted to continue living in her house.

Recently a mom revealed that she made her teenage daughter sign a contract that she would pay her rent if she wanted to continue living in her house.

The Oklahoma mom of six posted a video on her TikTok account where she showed her daughter, Jada, signing a lease agreement stating that she would pay a monthly amount of 100 dollars to live in the house owned by her mother.

The unnamed mom captioned her video, “When your 18-year-old decides to stay at home.”

She also used several hashtags like “#leaseagreement”, “#setupforsuccess”, “#stayinhome“, and “#myhousemyrules”.

The video became viral and received two million views and thousands of comments. Many people criticized her for being selfish and insensitive towards her 18-year-old daughter.

“My parents did this, and we no longer talk! So good luck, I guess.”

“Setting her up for success,” bro, you’re setting her up to never speak to you again.”

“I could understand after college or something but fresh out of high school, and I would just leave and never talk to my mom again.”

“My mom started making me pay to rent the second I turned 18. I always said I would never do that to my kids. Not cool.”

“Setting her up to be in debt before ever leaving your home. Way to go!”

After receiving tones of negative comments on her video, the mother posted another video and explained the reason behind her move.

“My parents did not set me up for success, so I had to fight for every single thing that I have. And I don’t want my children to have to do that. So everything that I do prepares them for the real world.”

She also said that to rent a house in their area, one needs to provide “renter history” to make a good legal deal. So, her actions will help Jada in the future when she moves out of her parent’s house.

“First thing is, when you move out in our area, you have to have some sort of renter history showing that you can pay bills on time and that you’re a good renter […] so I did make a legal lease agreement with my daughter.”

“And that’s the only bill [Jada] pays.” She continued. “No car payment, no insurance, no cellphone bill. Her cash is spent mostly on the utilities, room, food, and everything else.”

Even after her explanation in her follow-up video, most people didn’t agree with her logic and said she did the wrong thing.

“Girl no! Is so wrong, you should talk to your teen daughter and explain you save money, think about how she is gonna feel to have to work and pay rent.”

“I’m this economy it would be hard for her to move out” so then why take money from her? Have her pay for her phone and car insurance if you wanna…”

“What about taking those $100 and save it for when she moves out she has funds to pay all those fees that come with renting.”

Bride-To-Be Sets Out ‘Requirements’ For Her Guests That Are So Ridiculous, Her Brother Decided Not To Attend

Weddings are celebrations of love, life, and laughter. They can also be incredibly expensive to host, so it’s only natural that some happy couples want everything to go perfectly. If you’re spending tens (and possibly even hundreds) of thousands of dollars on something, you want a proper event that’s going to leave a lasting impression. But the material things—though important—pale in comparison to the soft stuff that really matters: family, friends, and delicious cake.

However, not everyone’s able to embrace the idea that something might go awry during their wedding. They need everything, absolutely everything, to be P-E-R-F-E-C-T. So much so that they go a bit off the rails. Case in point, one man told the AITA community how he decided not to attend his sister’s wedding at all due to how ridiculous the ‘requirements’ for her guests were.

Check out the redditor’s story below, Pandas. Let us know what you think of the whole family/wedding/materialism drama. Oh, and we’d love to hear all about your recent wedding experiences, too. Have you been to any celebrations of love this year? What did you love and loathe the most about them? Drop by the comment section and let us get you a slice of cake and a glass of whatever you enjoy the most.

Anna and Sarah, Team Leaders at The Wedding Society, shared their thoughts on the dynamic between couples and their guests with Bored Panda. Scroll down to read what they had to say.

Some brides want to control every tiny little thing and even go as far as micromanaging their guests

One man shared how he reacted when he realized his sister, the bride-to-be, made a massive list of requirements for everyone attending

Can we just take a moment and acknowledge how on-point the OP’s throwaway account username, u/MoneyMoneyMoney300, is considering how hyperfocused his sister is on the superficial and the material? Ok, good.

Though the story is a few years old, the discussion itself is timeless. The post touches upon some of the most important wedding-related issues. How we can’t expect to be able to control everything that happens during the celebration (though we might want to and, heck, we might even try!). How we can’t see the forest for the trees because minor details irk us so much. And how we sometimes ask too much from people without realizing it because we care far too much about what we want and our appearances.

Relaxing a bit, learning to go with the flow, showing flexibility, and finding fun and even joy in the unexpected are all things that make life special. Trying to control every aspect of a wedding is akin to trying to tame Nature and her forces. You can’t dictate how others will react or feel during the ceremony and reception. You can’t prohibit people from taking photos of your special day. And you certainly can’t demand that all the guys will shave off their beards and that the women can’t have hair longer than their shoulders (unless they wear them in ponytails). That’s the kind of soulless micromanagement you’d expect in a semi-dystopian corporation, not an event celebrating the union of two souls.

Don’t get us wrong, some structure is fine. Heck, you can even have a dress code and ask the guests to wear a certain range of colors or materials. But you cannot expect that everyone will adhere to these rules (there’s bound to be at least one maverick at every wedding) or that each individual is willing to put in the time, energy, and money to match your expectations.

Anna and Sarah, from The Wedding Society, were kind enough to answer our questions about what couples can do to ensure they’re not asking too much of their guests, as well, how they can focus less on the superficial details of the wedding, and how much money guests ‘should’ bring the happy couple.

“Couples can ask trusted close friends and family whether they’re being reasonable with their request. Be prepared to take on honest feedback and adjust your expectations to be guided by what you hear from those you rely on,” Anna, from The Wedding Society, explained to us.

“It’s hard not to get caught up in the details of the day but it’s important to remember that when it’s all happening, it’s really not going to matter very much to you. After it’s all over, you’ll remember the feel of the day and not the minute details,” they shared.

According to Anna and Sarah, there’s “no real formula” for the right amount of money that guests ought to gift a marrying couple.

“The best etiquette is to try and cover your own expenses for the event as well as a little extra if your budget allows,” the wedding industry experts said.

“At the end of the day, gifts should be meaningful and authentic rather than meeting the expectations of the couple. If the couple are disappointed, it may not actually be your fault.”

A study conducted by The Knot found that the average cost of attending a wedding as a guest in 2021 was $460. That’s around $30 more than in 2019. Local weddings cost less (~$270) because guests saved on transportation and lodgings. However, going to out-of-town events cost $660 on average.

If you had to fly, you’d spend an average of $1,270. Wedding gifts cost around $160 and they’re all a part of this number. So with prices like these, adding more and more requirements for the guests can end up making them realize that it might just not be worth attending the wedding at all. And things are only getting more expensive in 2022 as inflation soars.

The AITA crowd mostly thought that the OP didn’t do anything wrong by skipping out on his sister’s wedding. After all, it was pretty clear that the woman valued money far more than the company of her family and friends. Though who knows, maybe in the three years since the wedding, the sister has become a totally different person and has learned what to prioritize. We like to be optimistic.

Here’s how some the people who read the story reacted to the wedding drama

Woman Placed Son for Adoption after Her Partner’s Death And Recorded a Heartfelt Video Message for Him

Birth Mom Opens Up About the Reality of Open Adoption & It’s Heartachingly Beautiful

Hannah Mongie, a teenager, fell in love with a 20-year-old high school boy named Kaden.

In 2015, only a few months after their relationship started, Hannah realized she was expecting. She immediately informed Kaden about her pregnancy, and they both discussed their plan to move forward with their relationship.

According to Mongie, Kaden suggested that as they both were too young to raise a baby, they should look for some suitable people who could adopt their child.

“After some time of talking, he and I both concluded that placing our son with another family would be the best decision for us.” She told CafeMom.

“I was 18 years old and had just graduated high school a few months prior to finding out I was pregnant. My entire life, I had always longed to be a wife and a mother. That was the only ‘career’ path I could envision for myself up until that point. I found out I was pregnant through the most unlikely of circumstances, and the birth father and I talked together about what our options were. He was the first to bring up the idea of adoption because of where we were in our lives. Neither of us had a real job or very much schooling, and he told me that I should start thinking about what would be the best option, not for us, but our child.” She explained.

But unfortunately, two days after listening to the baby’s heartbeat during an ultrasound, Kaden passed away.

While talking to Scary Mommy, the young mother said,

“He died of natural causes. I didn’t get out of bed for two months after Kaden’s death. And I most certainly was not going to even think of the word adoption! That was not going to be an option for me because Taggart was my last piece of Kaden.”

But as her due date reached closer, Hannah decided to stick to their original plan; adoption. She said it wasn’t easy for her to make this decision, but she had to do it for her son’s sake.

“Over time, though, I learned that Tagg was his own person. He was not his father and needed a chance at the life he deserved.”

So, she used Adoption.com to look for a suitable couple who could adopt her baby and eventually found Emily and Brad Marsh. According to Mongie, she found the couple ‘perfect’ to raise her baby.

In March 2016, Hannah gave birth to a healthy baby boy and named him ‘Taggart.’ She spent two days with her newborn son and recorded a heartfelt video message for him.

“This is my son, Tagg, whom I placed for adoption in March of 2016. This video was created so that he would be able to look back and know that this decision was made purely out of love for him. He will never have to think that I ‘gave him up’ or that I did not love him. He will always be able to know that I loved him more than anyone else in this world.

I hope anyone who watches this will be able to gain a new perspective on what the Birth Mom goes through, when she places her child for adoption. It is the FURTHEST thing from a heartless act. It shows the definition of love. To love someone this much, is to give away your happiness for them. The new mom captioned her tear-jerking video.

Her video went viral on Facebook, and nearly two million people viewed it.

“This video was created so that he would be able to look back and know that this decision was purely out of love for him,” Hannah wrote on the platform. “He will never have to think that I gave him up or did not love him. He will always be able to know that I loved him more than anyone else in the world.”

After two days, Baby Taggart was adopted by Emily and Brad, but he is aware of Hannah and knows that she loves him.

While talking to a local news station, KTVU , she said,

“I am a frequent visitor in his home. Rather than ‘giving up’ or ‘away,’ I just adopted his entire family into mine. Including his extended family.”

“His mom, Emily, is still one of my best friends in the whole world. She honestly is everything I want to be as a person and a mother. I am so grateful that Tagg led me to her and their family. They are a blessing alone. And with Tagg, they are everything I need.” She concluded.

Mom Abandons Baby because of His Looks, A Nurse Adopts Him

This touching story is about humanity and love – the sheer power of healing that comes with pure love. It’s about a baby who was hated by his parents at birth for being deformed. The baby was left at the hospital, a nurse & her husband adopted him and gave him a loving family!

The Cruelty of Life

Baby Adam was born with Bartsocas–Papas syndrome – a congenital disorder associated with severe deformities and degenerated limbs development, among other things. Upon seeing the baby, his parents weren’t happy. The doctors also told the parents that Adam won’t have much time to live – three weeks or less.

His parents weren’t willing to take him home and were even willing to take his life if they were forced to take Adam home. Worrying for Adam’s safety, the doctor’s didn’t force the parents to take him home and kept him at the hospital.

Humanity & Love will Always Persist

A nurse at the hospital, Jessica Cooksey Paulraj, found out about baby Adam’s traumatizing story of abandonment. She and her husband, Raja Paulraj, instantly took him in and adopted him as their son! The lovely couple welcomed Adam in their family where he had two brothers who loved him all the same.

Adam, who was told he had three weeks to live, proved everyone wrong. While writing on the Michaela Evanow blog, Jessica said:

“In September 2014, we will celebrate our oldest son’s 3rd birthday. His name is Adam and from what medicine and logic predicted, he was not supposed to live past 2 months. Three years? How quickly they seem to have passed as I look back,”

“Fourteen surgeries have come and gone for Adam. Nearly $300,000 was given on his behalf. Two brothers, Elliot and Rohan, joined the ranks of our family, and Adam became an older brother. Our family has traveled from India to America and back again.”

After almost five years of a happy and beautiful life with an incredible family, Adam sadly passed away in 2016 due to his condition. Jessica dedicated a post on their official website, we:unformed, where she wrote:

“Our little bird met his Maker and Sustainer…the Shepherd of his soul early this morning. There was incredible peace that enveloped his fragile, swollen body,”

“He will be missed by so many. It’s indescribable to explain this ache. Yet to imagine his body restored and to imagine him surrounded by glory and welcomed by his Father…it’s a pretty good balm to our weary souls.”

We Salute this Couple
Jessica & Raja Paulraj, you two are true superheroes! We wish you all of the blessings life has to offer, may you and your family always live a happy life!

Mother Turned Her Son into Police after Discovering that He Was Planning To Att*ck School

Mother Turned Her Own Son In To Police As She Was Worried He’d Att*ck School

A Texas mother turned her son into the Police after discovering he might att*ck a school.

Nicole Schubert from Washington spoke about calling Police on her seventeen-year-old son in 2019 after reading his journal in which he detailed a plan to execute a mass murder at the Washington High School.

The 41-year-old called the cops when she read that her son was planning to kill everyone in his school, including his mother.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Schubert said she made the difficult decision to save many lives, including her son’s.

“That’s my child, I gave birth to him. It hurts a lot, it still hurts.” She said.

“I did what I did because I wanted to save the lives of others and my son. I knew he would be safer in jail.”

“If there’s a possibility to save even one person, one child, I think it’s worth it.”

The mom said that before discovering the notebook with the evil plan, she also found a homemade pipe bomb in his room. When she asked her son about it, he said it was just a ‘science adventure.’

Talking to The Wall Street Journal, Nicole said,

“It was very descriptive, it was just heartbreaking. I didn’t, I didn’t really want to know the details.”

“In his journal, he wrote about carrying out a shooting on April 20, 2020, on the 21st anniversary of the Columbine shooting,” she continued. “He planned to begin his massacre at 5 am that morning by murdering me, his mother, and my boyfriend, and would begin shooting up his school at 12:20 pm later that day.”

‘Kill everyone possible, fight to the death or kill self after maximum damage has occurred,’ that’s what he wrote.” Said Nicole.

The mom said after finding out about the bone-chilling journal, she carried it around with her for one whole day and kept thinking about what she must do to save everyone.

“Your first instinct is, as a parent, is to protect your child. But at that point, I felt like if he is actually going to do these things, he would be safer in jail.” She told GMA.

“It wasn’t just about me and him at that point, It was about a whole school – hundreds of people, hundreds of kids, children. I knew most of them. They were his friends. I have known these kids when they were just babies. How could I let it go?” she added.

So, Schubert called the Police and told them everything. The Police arrested the teen as soon as he returned from school that day.

The Police also recovered a knife with a six-inch blade from his pocket. Later, after being interrogated, he pleaded guilty to two transgressions -harassment-domestic violence and a felony threat to destroy or injure property.

However, the boy stated that the contents of his journal were merely a fantastical story he wrote, and he had no intentions of implementing it for real.

The court ordered the boy to stop going to school and further directed him to complete a mental evaluation program, 18 months of community supervision, and 20 hours of community service.

Since then, the now-20-year-old boy has finished his high school degree and sought help for depression. His mother said that he also plans to go to college in the near future.

“As hard as it was to turn him in, I don’t have any regrets,” Nicole said.

She also requested all parents to strictly check their children’s activities and be informed of their doings.

“Stay in their business. Even if they don’t like it. They’re not going to like it. But as parents, it’s our job to know what our kids are doing,’ she said, ‘Just be aware and watch for signs. Kids will normally tell you by their actions when something is wrong.”

I’m getting filler in my lips for £1,000 from my sugar daddy

She claims she is more confident than ever 👄

Having had over £1000 worth of filler injected into her lips, a 22-year-old says she is more confident than ever, thanks to her sugar daddy.

According to Dailymail, The woman, whose sugar daddy often foots the bill, says she has never felt more confident after spending more than £1,000.

Chanel Challacombe, 22, from Kent, began having lip filler at 20 – and was hooked after one injection. A psychology student gets her lips topped up around three times a year with 2ml injected into her face.

Her appointment for filler would cost up to £299, which is nearly as much as some people have to pay for rent. However, she doesn’t worry too much about the price tag since her sugar daddy usually pays for it. She said this treatment has helped Chanel regain some self-confidence that she lost while being bullied at school.

While she gets a lot of naysayers on social media, her huge lips don’t bother her anymore. ‘I get hate on TikTok and my family don’t like it either,’ she explained.

She said she used to respond to negative comments on TikTok, but the platform always suspended her.

Instead, she lets criticism wash over her and uses it as motivation to have more filler.

I think I started to get filler as a coping mechanism. My boyfriend wasn’t a big fan of it, and we broke up when I started getting more. There has been talking of a new law that might only allow people to have filler if they have prescriptions. Chanel said she disagreed with the proposal.

Even though she is concerned about the mental health of young women who believe they need filler, the 22-year-old believes restricting the procedure will encourage more people to turn to the “black market” for the procedure.

Chanel continues to have cosmetic procedures topped up and planning for a bo0b job in Turkey. She said: ‘I was forced to go abroad for this as my GP wouldn’t write me the letter to get it done in the UK.’

NHS Doctors Delay Switching off Archie Battersbee’s Life Support After Family’s Last-Minute Plead to European Convention

Archie Battersbee’s Mother Says She’ll Fight To Move Son To Hospice As She Admits It’s ‘The End’.

The family of comatose boy Archie Battersbee has managed to delay the decision of doctors to turn his life support off.

The 12-year-old British boy was found unconscious in his house in April. His mother said she believes her son was doing some sort of online challenge that went horribly wrong.

Since then, he has been under treatment and is currently on life support in the Barts Health NHS Trust.

According to BBC, doctors at Royal London Hospital argued that the child is ‘brain stem dead’ and it is in his best interest to end his suffering and stop his treatment.

The Supreme Court ruling came earlier this week when the judge ruled that Archie’s misery should end now, and doctors could stop his treatment and switch off his life support.

However, as per Daily Mail, Archie’s lawyers argued this was unlawful.

“Stopping his treatment would be in breach of the UK’s obligations under Articles 10 and 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities – the right to life and equal recognition before the law – and Article 6 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children – that every child has the inherent right to life.”

Archie’s mother, Hollie Dance, condemned the court’s decision and called it ‘brutal’ and stated that she would fight for his son’s life till the very last minute and wouldn’t allow anyone to decide otherwise.

Hollie and her family have also made an emergency request application to the European Convention on Human Rights. Barts NHS Trust has confirmed that they will not take any immediate step until the judgment comes back.

A spokesman for the trust said, “We will make no changes to Archie’s care until the outstanding legal issues are resolved.”

Speaking to the outlet, Hollie Dance said,

“We are very relieved, we are having to battle every decision with the hospital. We now hope and pray that the ECHR will look favourably on the application. We will not give up on Archie until the end.”

She further added that her family has received offers from other countries who want to treat their Archie.

“We have been approached by doctors from Japan, Turkey, and Italy. They all claim that they can treat Archie. I’m now considering options to move him outside the UK.”

“Yesterday was a very down day for me. People that know me know I won’t stay down for long, especially when it comes to fighting for my son’s life.”

“I promised Arch, same with his dad, that we will fight ’til the bitter end, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

“It really is a case of me and Archie, and obviously Archie’s family, up against the whole system. We’re going to fight for the right for my son to live.”

According to Daily Mail, if their European application fails, Archie’s family might have no other option left but to say goodbye to him.

Mom Revealed that she was Torn Apart When Nobody Congratulated Her When Her Baby Girl was Born

Eliza and her husband Erik were expecting their baby Bella’s birth with enthusiasm. However, doctors and nurses didn’t congratulate the parents when she finally arrived in 2018 because she “looked different.” The newborn’s mother’s heart was shattered.

In 2018 Eliza Jamkochian Bahneman and her husband Erik received the good news that they would become parents.

“‘We’re pregnant!’ These are the words everyone likes to hear when planning for a family. It took my husband and me about nine months to get pregnant. I was starting to feel anxious and nervous. It’s crazy how many emotions one can feel when planning to have children.” Said Eliza.

Love What Matters reported that Eliza shared her pregnancy journey with her sister-in-law and a few friends. They were all expecting and were due one after the other.

“It was amazing to have someone you can share your pregnancy pros and cons with.”

However, things took a turn, and her daughter Isabella was born a month earlier than her due date.

“After 12 hours of labor, Bella entered our world. She arrived sunny side up, weighing five and a half pounds. Upon her arrival, I noticed a tiny folded ear. I was told babies look weird as soon as they come out, so I didn’t think anything of it.”

Eliza said that Bella was so tiny and delicate, and she was excited to meet her baby girl. But when she held her for the first time, she realized something was wrong.

“’Why isn’t anyone congratulating me? Why is my husband so confused and scared? Why can’t my mom look at me? Why did my doctor step out? Why are all these other people coming into my room?’ My room was silent. No one said a word. The silence tore me apart; it broke me, shattered my heart.”

“I broke down, shaking, scared, confused, and lost. Writing this moment breaks me. With a heavy heart, I revisit these memories and remember my daughter’s arrival was not celebrated.” She told LWM.

Doctors examined the baby and ran several tests. After multiple evaluations, they concluded that Bella had a genetic disorder, Treacher Collins.

“‘Honey, I think I diagnosed our daughter,’ my husband said, ‘Well, there are two syndromes. However, one is worse than the other. Let’s hope it’s Treacher Collins.’ We read the article together, looked at pictures, researched, and cried.” Said Bahneman.

“It was a condition in which her facial bones wouldn’t develop properly, like normal people. Our daughter was born with many issues, such as loss of hearing and a small airway.”

“So began the chapter of our lives that involved several surgeries and rushing to the hospital due to emergencies.”

“We had a special protocol to follow each time going in and out of the NICU. Several specialists and neonatologists greeted us.”

“Bella had to be assessed further with x-rays, exams, and evaluations. We had to leave Bella in the evenings at the hospital. It was hard to manage motherhood, a new baby, a rare syndrome, pumping, and the daily information provided.”

Eliza said she would wake up in the middle of the night and log into the NICU cameras to watch Bella.

“I connected with my daughter through media. That was my normal.”

“On December 8, 2018, after we were medically and properly trained to care for Bella, we were discharged to go home. My husband and I were not only her parents but also her nurse.”

“We have had many whirlwinds, including several emergency visits to the ER and choking situations while at home.”

Eliza told the outlet that she and Erik had come a long way and were extremely thankful for their training in the NICU for caring for her baby girl.

Currently, Bella is two and a half years old and is growing strong even after undergoing three major inpatient surgeries and one outpatient surgery.

“Most TCS babies have an average of 20 to 60 surgeries, if not more. Some have trachs to help them breathe, but almost all of them have some sort of hearing loss. Bella goes to occupational therapy, speech therapy, a music class for children with hearing loss, and early start with the school district.”

“Our journey is different, our normal is different, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. This entire experience has taught me so much as a mother, sister, wife, friend, and acquaintance.” Said Eliza.

Obese Woman Refuses To Give Up Extra Seat She Purchased On Plane So Couple Can Sit Together

If they wanted to sit together so badly, perhaps they should have thought ahead.

The Reddit community recently supported an obese woman harassed by a couple after she wouldn’t give up the extra airplane seat she purchased.

Tessy23, a Redditor who is obese, often purchases two airplane seats for herself while flying alone. What’s the reason? She does not want to impress or bother other passengers to enjoy her flight. Her hopes were dashed recently when she encountered the situation she had hoped to avoid.

Obese Woman Refuses To Give Up Extra Seat She Purchased On Plane So Couple Can Sit Together

A viral post on Reddit by Tessy23 explained she purchased an extra seat next to her own to ensure comfort during the flight. Redditors exchanged thoughts with the original poster.

Story:

“AITA for not giving up my second “free” seat next to me in the plane?”

I am obese. Like I am comfortable having two seats in the plane type of obese. I am well aware of that and I really don’t like to bother people with my weight.

A week ago I was going to a conference by plane and because I was going alone (usually when I fly with my boyfriend I don’t buy two since he sits next to me) I bought two seats. I fit in one but my side is usually touching the person next to me and I feel uncomfortable for them. It happened to me that they gave me nasty looks and I felt extremely uncomfortable the whole flight.

So I sat down in the plane and put the armrest up so I would be really comfortable. Some couple came and they both sat next to me because they got separate seats and they noticed the seat next to me was empty. Exactly what I was afraid of happened. My side kept touching the guy next to me and he even pushed me a bit when he moved in the seat. I was feeling extremely uncomfortable and asked him if he could go to his seat because I bought this one for my comfort. He told me no, since the seat is empty and he wants to be with his girlfriend. Well, I told him I understand but I feel uncomfortable and I paid for the second seat so exactly this doesn’t happen. He refused again and started to chat with his GF. I called the flight attendant and quietly told her what is happening. She asked the guy to leave my second seat and he and his GF gave me a nasty look. The GF mumbled something like “Fu***g fat bi**h” under her breath but nothing directly to me.

So Am I the a$$hole for insisting on him to leave?

  • flaky-burnt: NTA! You bought that seat. The couple sitting apart has nothing to do with you. IDGAF if you were thin and bought a 2nd seat for your emotional support ghost! That’s your seat.
  • 31anon5: NTA. They tried to take something you paid for and then were rude to you. It’s a bit shocking, really, considering the number of people who comment on social media that larger people should have to buy two seats. Please don’t feel bad about yourself because they chose to be horrid and entitled.
  • F0zzysW0rld: NTA – It wasnt a free/available seat. You purchased it, you bought the seat so it is “occupied”.
  • DishsUp: NTA: you paid for that seat, it’s your seat and frankly airplane seats are too small. I was on a flight last week, I bought it last minute and ended up with a center seat in the “basic” cabin, the cheap seats on United flights ( at least on this plane ) don’t have movable arm rests, my hips hit both armrests( read walls), it was very uncomfortable. I wear a women’s 10/12, after that experience I will always buy 2 seats if I’m in the back or at least never settle for less than business class.
  • Aylauria: NTA. You were the opposite of the AH. You paid extra for the comfort of yourself and the person next to you. They were both AH. They could have accomplished the same goal by have her swap her seat with the person sitting next to him. But they didn’t want to. Not your problem. Give it no more thought.
  • jaelythe4781: NTA. You PAID for two seats. They were being entitled AHs for not even asking permission.
  • For you for the future, there is NOTHING wrong with informing people who try to sit in your PAID FOR 2nd seat that it IS your seat even if it’s currently empty and they need to sit in their assigned seats or ask someone else to switch. Or they could PAY for assigned seats next to each other in the future. If you don’t pay for seat assignment, you don’t get to complain about not sitting next to each other or bully someone else for their seat.
  • BaffledMum: NTA. For heaven’s sake, if he’d been assigned to sit next to you, he’d have complained you were too big. But if you get an extra seat so as not to bother him, he feels entitled to your seat. Why didn’t the girlfriend ask boyfriend’s seat neighbor to switch? No muss, no fuss.
  • ThePeoplesPoom: Firstly, I’m sorry people have given you nasty looks and treated you poorly. No one should be shaming you for your body. Second, you are DEFINITELY NTA. You already paid for your extra seat (already very courteous) and you were respectful and discrete in having him removed.
  • FangirlSuelo: NTA, I know the feeling because my mom was overweight my whole life and she’d tell me the stories of her flying solo and even with me she’d have me sit in the seat next to her. But I’ve seen the stares and dirty looks too, I’ve been getting the looks lately too if I’m flying alone and even a little of me spills to the side. They need to either plan better, or ask in the first place if they could sit there. When you said you were uncomfortable and then they blew you off, then you did the best thing getting the flight attendant. You’re not at all in the wrong here for standing up for yourself.
